Color Pencil on Watercolor Paper, 12"x10"

My great aunt and uncle own this little camp in Texas- and yes, they have a really awesome 40's Willy, too. They wanted to commemorate their little get-away and all that makes it special in this scene. Once, they spotted the young buck right outside and snapped a few quick pictures of him, which of course means he must be included into the whole memory of the place!

If you really like this drawing, you might also like this selection from my gallery!

Oddly or not, I have a place in my mind that when I want to peace and solitude, I imagine a hut very similar similar the one that you have shown and just go inside and rest/clear my mind. I imagine the comfort of listening to the rain on the roof while tucked up warm inside, and enjoy the minimalist aspect of the interior. Obviously I don't have the jeep, buck or chimney, but the theme/concept of the building is the same. Your great aunt and uncle are very lucky.

Thank you. I'm glad this art piece resonates with your being and peaceful nature. It is certainly all that for my aunt and uncle, too. :)

Beautiful work Emily, not only realistic, it looks also surreal with the deer close to the
house... we are like in a dream. :rose:

Pretty close! This camp belongs to the couple that also owns the jeep and took the picture of the deer I referenced right outside the camp- so it really was that close! Thanks!

Love it! I went thru your gallery and you have some great stuff there. Landscapes and animals seem to be your strongest points. Faces? But your artwork is lovely and I faved this one because I wanted something of yours. :iconredheartplz:

Thanks! Yes, I prefer landscapes and animals. I'm always striving to improve, but I think I could use the most work in my portraits. Glad you chose this one to fave, it's kinda been lonely! Your the first, I think!
